Music, Dance & Drama

At St. Peter’s Secondary School Bombo Kalule, MDD is not just an extracurricular activity — it is the beating heart of student life. A vibrant stage where young talents ignite, cultures come alive, and futures are shaped with rhythm, passion, and purpose.

Here, MDD transforms shy voices into powerful performers, hesitant steps into graceful movements, and ordinary students into confident leaders who shine both on stage and in life.

In the true spirit of Ugandan education, our programme blends academic excellence with holistic development, nurturing the mind, body, and soul while proudly preserving our rich national heritage.

What Our MDD Programme Offers

Traditional Ugandan Dance

Students immerse themselves in the soul-stirring rhythms of Uganda’s diverse cultures. They master authentic dances such as:

  • Kiganda – the graceful heart of Buganda
  • Kitagururo – energetic Ankole beats
  • Bola and Kisoga – vibrant Basoga traditions
  • Rakaraka – fiery Northern Acholi energy
  • Gisu Imbalu – powerful Bagisu circumcision dance

Students research origins, sew costumes, and drum with pride during weekly practices and inter-house competitions.

Modern & Contemporary Dance

From creative choreography to fusion styles that beautifully weave tradition with today’s global beats, students explore innovative moves that keep them relevant in a changing world.

Music & Band Training

Our full school band programme equips students with professional instruments and skills, including:

  • Drums and percussion
  • Guitars
  • Keyboards
  • Brass and wind instruments
  • Vocals and vibrant choir performances

Weekly rehearsals and music theory sessions build technical excellence and emotional expression.

Drama & Theatre

Students dive into script writing, acting, stage direction, costume and set design, and public performances. Through powerful skits and plays, they tackle real-life issues while honing communication, empathy, and critical thinking.
